School Program Volunteer Orientation/Training offered on
September 3, 2008
Are you a Naturalist at heart?
No experience necessary!
School Program volunteers are naturalists at heart who want to share the wonders of nature with 2nd and 5th graders. Some volunteers assist with the park’s Discover Carolina programs, assisting students with their measurements and observations down at the creek.
Some volunteers with a naturalist background lead students on a nature hike around Lake Placid. Some lead 5th graders in the use of a creative writing Journal at the park. At the Sept.3 session, the park’s interpretive ranger and seasoned volunteers will train participants for the fall season.
For registration and information, call the office at (864)244-5565, or email the interpretive ranger at taylor@scprt.com Participants should bring a bag lunch.
Thanks~
