Arbor Program on Dec. 6th, was a great success.

The chilly morning temperature didn't keep these dedicated park supporters from coming out for the 2008 Arbor Day Tree Planting Program. Thanks for a job well done!

The Arbor Day Program this past Saturday was once again a great success. There were 21 dedicated adults and children who came, shovels in hand, to plant trees for the next season.

Twenty trees were planted, including Mountain Laurels and a Flowering Dogwood at the Park Center, American Hollies on the hillside near Shelter 3, and Red Maples, Redcedar, American Beech, as well as Red, White and Post Oaks planted in the campground.

All of the trees were harvested from within the park itself in areas of high competition and transplanted to other areas for erosion control, shade and wildlife benefits, as well as for aesthetic beauty. Thanks to all those who came out on this chilly Saturday morning and worked hard to help make the park and their community a better place.

If you have pictures from this program or any other pictures from around the park and would like to see them on this site, please e-mail them to us at: dave@wilddave.com.
